Hooking up the vacuum gauges

Postby cromwave » Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:58 am

I picked up some vacuum gauges for synchronizing my carbs, but I can't find where to plug the ports into on the carbs. Does anyone happen to have any pictures? I'll probably run it with the tank on, but off to the side.

Thanks, much appreciated.

you can keep the tank on, iirc.
left side is easy, right side is a little harder.
I don't have my vtr out of storage yet, so I can't do a pic.

Vacuum ports are where the line to the petcock connects, you’ll need a second fitting.

Thanks! It's getting warm in Connecticut so I had to take mine out. Do you happen to know where on the carburetors they are? I moved some things around to make getting to them easier.

I only see one, but I'm looking for the port to the carburetors to synchronize them.

I'll take a look at it and let you know! I had some trouble finding them before, the only two ports I saw were the two highlighted in red in this photo below. So I unplugged both but they didn't read any vacuum.

Thanks!

it's on the inlet of the head, not the carbs
