Um, better make sure that the front axle bolt is tight.

That should solve the problem.

Like the linear rotation of the wheel with the brake applied - being able to rock back and forth? Yeah, I remember that, too. It's fine, the bike doesn't do that on the road.

Nice creative idea with the bolts!

You will also want to check your front/rear wheel alignment.

Everything was tight, but I loosened everything again, and then I tried to get the plate in contact with the fork tab (as in a simulated braking situation), and tried to tighten everything in place like that. It seemed to help a little. I'll see how it is when I finally ride it. It's just been too hot to ride lately :shock: .
