VT 250 Ignition Coils

Postby Phildent » Sat Apr 13, 2019 2:10 am

Hi everyone,

I am trying to source 2 ignition coils for My "84 VT 250. Honda Australia has none, and I don't seem to be able to find any compatible on line. SUN coils produce one, but the mounting holes are 80 mm apart, whereas my originals are 100 mm apart.
Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can source a couple of new ones ( I can find plenty of old ones, but don't want old.) or have any suggestions as to what to replace these ones with.
Appreciate any suggestions...Thanks...Phil

Would CBR250 coils be any good? Just a thought as many CBR bits are same as VT/R.

HI Murdo1, and thanks for the suggestion.
My problem is that I don't know too much about coils. I can source coils for a 250 spada, that look the same, but are physically shorter. No problem, I can modify the mount.
But what about the OUTPUTS ?? That's what I don't understand.
Does the coil have to be EXACTLY the one for a VT250 F, or will Spada ones do ??
I don't want to buy and mount 2 Spada coils only to find they don't work either...
Hopefully someone in this forum can kindly enlighten me..
Many thanks.....Phil

If you scroll down the bottom it gives a list of all bikes fitted with that coil.

I have had good service from David Silver.
There is lots of others listed on ebay. Just put in the part number and go from there.
