a New VTR'er.

Postby Fuller56 » Tue Jun 06, 2017 2:48 pm

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am a new VTR'er and so far greatly enjoying it. I recently was cruising Craigslist and found an ad for an '89 that appeared to be in good shape at a very attractive price. The deal was struck and she (now known as "Betty") joined my herd. Before I could get Betty home another ad popped up and I managed to also gather Christine up and get her home. Betty is in very good shape and with only a little tweaking has been on the road performing wonderfully at just a bit over 12k miles. Christine is in the shop for a good bit of cleaning and rehabilitation as she has not been run in something over 10 years and has been sitting out of doors for a bit of that. She appears to have had some hard use in her 27k miles as well. No, I have not taken any pictures of the girls yet.
I think I read on one of the posts here somewhere that Mr Hilmer has access to float bowl gaskets? If you would sir, please PM me about how I might obtain some for both of my ladies.

Thanks,
John

Welcome Aboard, John.

It is nice to see another join us. And adding two VTR's to the group collection at one time is certainly unique.

I've sent you a PM.

I have all the bits and pieces for Christine. The tupperware needs some repair and paint and the mechanical bits all need a lot of cleaning but she will run again.

Betty has just been an absolute hoot to ride. The curves that feel plenty tight on the bigger bikes, Concours C10 and WeeStrom feel like sweepers on Betty.

Keep the rubber side down out there ;)
