VFR 750 parts = VTR 250 ???

Parts that either fit a VTR 1 to 1 or can be easily modified to work.

VFR 750 parts = VTR 250 ???

There is a guy in my neighbourhood parting out a 1983 and 84 VFR 750F... does anyone know of any useful parts that might be of use on my 1988 VTR? With little to no modifications required...

John Hilmer to the white courtesy phone...........

I would think some of the ancillary items (turn signals, mirrors, fasteners) should swap over but if you're thinking of bodywork or suspension items, I doubt it (but, I may be wrong).

Folks,

The light bulbs and perhaps the coils, but after that about all that I can think of would be fasteners and maybe the ignition switch.

Thanks for the quick reply, gentlemen... This site has been part of my daily reading since getting my bike last fall. Your answer is music to my ears, as I was thinking about sourcing a spare set of coils - just in case.... Perhaps I'll send and email and see what he has, & take a ride over at some point this weekend. Cheers.

Just to note: VFR's first appeared in 1986, and anything b4 that was a VF, big difference.

I'd guess that the handlebar switches would work on the VTR in addition to what others mentioned.

Thanks for that info - nice catch BTW - I emailed the ad poster about the Year/Model discrepancy and am waiting to hear back. I'm putting my visit off until next week, but I'd hate to have wasted a trip. I am also looking for various missing fasteners, etc. so even if it is the older model, I might go for a lookey-loo anyway.
