89/90 Wheel Swap & Tires Question

I'm more just thinking out loud at this point, but please bear with me.

Once I get Barbie, my almost pristine 89 up and running, she is going to need new tires. I'm thinking of pulling parts off my 90 parts bike. If I understand correctly, I should be able to drop the forks out and just swap the whole forks/wheel/fender/brake assembly. From the parts list, the master cylinders appear to be identical. At this point, I'm thinking it would probably be best to do fork seals, rebuild the caliper, & replace the fork oil. I have some old Progressive Suspension fork springs that I never got around to installing, so I might as well do that as well.

For the rear, it looks like I need to pull the swingarms to swap everything over. Is there anything special I need to be aware of for the operation? Once it's off the 90, I'll check the brake pads.

As to the tires, I'm thinking I'd like to go with radials. Officially, 110/70's are supposed to be on 2.75" rims or wider, but it looks like several forum members have run them on the 2.50" 90 rims. Should I be concerned? There are lots of 110/70-17 front radial tire options, but the rear tire options seem to be somewhat more limited: I've only been able to find the Conti Road Attack 3 in 130/80-17 and the Michelin Pilot Street in 130/70-17. I'm hesitant to run a 140/70-17, even though that appears to have been done. At this point I'm leaning towards the Conti Road Attack 3's in 110/70 & 130/80, but have toyed with the idea of running a stickier front. I don't really ride that hard, nor do I often ride in the rain, so I'm not certain if sportier front rubber would be a good idea. Faster wear, but better dry braking and response, to the detriment of wet performance.

Again, I'm just thinking out loud at this point, as I have to get Barbie running first. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcome.

I ran a pair of the Conti's and felt they were good stable feel on the road. Got 10,000 from the rear and 16,000 from the front.

I've made a decision on the tires. Since Barbie is my only working motorcycle right now, I'm going to leave her stock for now, and put BT45's on her.

Then I'm going to put Conti RA3 radials on Skipper (the 90) when I get her up and running.

If the braking and handling is dramatically different, the plan will be to pull the front and rear off the 90 parts bike, and upgrade Barbie to radials as well.

That sounds like a good plan. I am happy with my BT45s

And they have lasted well.
