1993 Aprilia 280R Climber

This is for any other bike that is NOT an 88-90 VTR 250.

The next to last model year Climber, or trials bike for that matter, that Aprilia made. They're still around, they just concentrate on other types of bikes/scooters now.

Some (crappy) pictures from the previous owner:

As you can see, I'm getting further and further away from pavement-only bikes. This one is strictly for play (obviously) and to force me to get out and play more. I'll probably enter some trials events at some point, maybe this Fall, certainly next year. The plan is to (re)sharpen my skills and eventually compete in the Intermediate Class. Placing high is secondary, in concern, to having fun, meeting people and getting outside. 8-)

Well, not really. :D I learned to ride, and learned to ride trials, on an '86 Honda Reflex (TLR200). When I lived in the northeast, it was really easy to find spots to "play". Two of my closest friends had trials bikes (one still does). So, it made logical sense. The one that still does was the person that bought the Reflex and I reimbursed him. He now has a Beta and a Montessa. So, this is actually me returning to my "roots" as it were. It also forces me to go play more and trials is cheap/easy way to do that. I don't plan to ride higher than the Intermediate class (Beginner > Novice > Intermediate ...). That's plenty of challenge and the idea isn't to go out to win but to compete, have fun and make new friends. The kicker was that the seller, a riding friend, has agreed to let me keep the bike at his farm (for the rest of this year, at least). As I ride more events, I'll probably bring it home and store it in the shed at our rental property (1/2 mile away).

Thanks Scott. ;)

I need a set of MX (in-the-boot) pants now. Anyone have a pair with ~33" waist they would sell?
